Design, build and your own Sonic levels and share them with others across the world in this ground-breaking Level Editor for SEGA!
Concepted and designed by Mediatonic for the SEGA's web portal, our Sonic Level Editor gives VIP members access to a range of classic Sonic scenery and items to build their dream level.
Levels are constructed using drag & drop functionality with the players able to use a number of tools to build their levels as quickly as possible such as zoom, copy & paste and undo.
The editor transforms completed levels into a binary data format used in the original Sonic game.
This is saved on the server and loaded through a Flash emulation of the original Sonic game so visitors to the site can play any of the levels that have been created by the tool.
The Flash emulation is integrated with the site API and all players can earn rings through playing generated levels which can be used to buy items on the PlaySEGA portal. This Level Editor follows on from our existing work on the PlaySEGA portal including a range of 12 different titles and an avatar creator.
